Grower visit to South Africa: looking ahead together

In May, Peke and Koen travelled to South Africa to visit our growers in the Eastern Cape, Orange River and Limpopo. From citrus to kiwi, grapes and stone fruit – it was a valuable trip full of encounters, insights and plans for the new season.

Citrus almost ready

Although the citrus season had yet to begin, the harvest was about to start for many growers. In some locations, the trees were laden with ripening fruit, while elsewhere the first picking had just begun. The trip gave a good picture of what is to come and where any challenges lie.

Looking back on grapes, looking ahead with stone fruit

The table grape season had already ended at the time of the visit. Together with the growers, Peke and Koen looked back on a positive season. New investments in packing lines and labelling options could contribute to direct retail deliveries in the future.

We also saw new plans for stone fruit: existing projects will be further developed, with a focus on quality and organic expansion

Personal contact makes the difference

These personal encounters remain the basis for cooperation: honest, long-term and focused on joint growth.
